tern. gets its name set and its bird drawn. It goes up on the hanging sign and the door first.
A brand has to work wherever it turns up: on a phone at midnight, on a menu in a dim room, on a fascia in the rain, on the screen by the till. We design for all of it.
Our roots are in signage, which taught us to design for the real place, the real distance and the real light. We bring that to everything we make, on screen and off, and we check it where it has to live before you sign it off.

We draw a character out of your own brand, then give it the lessons: inductions, safety, the shop floor. Oddi is made up. Its roundel wakes up, hops down and works the shop floor, and every lesson lands on a shelf-edge ticket.

Most studios hand over the files and hope. We stay with it: the proof on press, the post on a phone, the site on launch day, the sign on the wall. And when a job needs cutting, building or fitting, our sister companies OneLaser and OneSign are part of the same group, so nothing gets lost between us.

- do you only design signage?
- No. We design brand identities, signage artwork, print and posters, social content, spaces and wayfinding, websites, and animation and film. Signage is where we started, and it taught us to design things that survive the real world, but plenty of our work never goes near a wall.
- who makes the finished thing?
- We do most of it ourselves: the artwork, the print files, the posts, the sites and the films. When a job needs cutting, building or fitting, our sister companies in One Group, OneLaser and OneSign, make and install it on Team Valley, so the thing you approve is the thing you get.
- can you work with our existing brand?
- Happily. Not every project needs a new identity. We often take a brand that works beautifully on screen and rework it for buildings, interiors and large-format graphics, keeping everything your customers already recognise.
- do you work outside the North East?
- Yes. The studio is on Team Valley in Gateshead and much of our work is across the North East, but we design and deliver schemes further afield too; distance has never stopped a good idea.
- what does a project cost?
- It depends on the shape of it. A focused identity refresh and a full multi-site retail scheme are very different jobs, so we scope every project on its own terms. Tell us what you are making and we will come back with a straight answer.
- how do we start?
